Japan: Shinjuku and Yokohama

Tokyo Metropolitan Building.

We didn't spend much time in either Shinjuku or Yokohama but they're worth mentioning anyways.  Shinjuku is home to Tokyo's financial district and home to many of it's sky scrapers.  In addition Shinjuku station is the world's, yes not Japan but the world's, busiest train station.  It serves, on average, 2 million passengers a day with over rail and subway lines.  To the west of the station is Tokyo's sky scraper district.  We just stopped by and went up to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building to visit it's observation deck some 45 stories high.  The TMG has great views and whats even better is that it's free.  Forget Tokyo Tower and it's nearly 20 dollar entrance fee.  ;)

We also paid a quick visit to Yokohama.  We didn't get to explore too much of it because of the rain but we did manage to get to the Ramen museum.  Man the Japanese sure do love their theme attractions.  It was a pretty cool place.  The museum is rather small but inside is a replica of a 1950's Japanese town.  Plus the ramen was pretty good.  Oh well not much else to report.  Later!
