South Korea: Jeju Island's beautiful but I'm seriously missing home

Exploring one of Jeju's volcanic beaches.

Couples write wishes on these locks and lock them together, hoping for eternal love.

One of the gorges on Jeju.

Seafood stew with crab, abalone, muscles, shrimp, and clams.  Pretty  darn good.
Today me and the wifey headed on over to South Korea's most famous island, Jeju.  It sits south of the peninsula and has been featured in many many Korean dramas.  We went to a couple of their beaches, hiked up Seongsan Ilchubong, and visited a pretty nice botanical garden.  All in all, it's a beautiful place but after more than 4 months on the road me and Chantra are getting a pretty bad case of homesickness.  Sometimes you just crave something familiar.  Like I'd love to flip on the TV and watch some sportscenter right now or get a big slice of New York Pizza.  Most of all I'd love to play with my dogs!  I didn't think it would happen but I can honestly say that I'm ready to head home.  We still have about another month to go and one more country to visit and we're still really excited to see China but it'll be nice to get back to home, friends, and family.  Well enjoy the pictures.
Mutant albino peacock.

Kimchi Jiggae AKA kimchi and tofu stew.  5 bucks.

This was the wall of a local mom and pop restaurant we ate at.  I liked all the engrish writings on the wall and decided to add to the mix.  The little shop was run by a single middle aged lady who didn't speak a lick of English.  Luckily there were pictures.

Korea's version of ramen.

Me and the wifey on top of Seongsan Ilchubong.  After the Himalaya's I wouldn't even count this as a hike.  Still nice views though.

Changing of the guard at Gwandeokjong.

Some of the grandfather statues that are so popular on this island.  It's like their symbol.

Courtyard at Gwandeokjong.

Some kids feeding the carp.

A misty afternoon at the beach.

Some locals collecting shellfish.

Tons of locals eating fresh seafood that the women have just gathered from the sea.  Delicious.

Some squid drying on the line.

Chantra molesting a grandfather statue.

Some cacti at the botanical garden.

Really diggin the cacti for some reason.

Is it just me or does this look like a face?

Chantra next to a statue of the famous Jeju women divers.  They're famous for being able to free dive to extreme depths.
